Many of us have needed to see a specialist for our own health needs. There are specialist in the veterinary field also. You may have noticed that Dr. Schaedler has a couple extra letters after DVM, "DABVP". What do these letters mean? It means that she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She has chosen to undergo a long and difficult process of additional studies and examination to become a Board certified canine and feline specialist recognized by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
 In order to retain her status she has to take an exam every ten years. This year was the ten year mark. All of us at Northtown Animal Hospital would like to congratulate her for once again passing the exam and being re-certified!
